My favorite Madras sport coat, J. Press… Had two buttons placed for vintage golden days reference… Picked up a few new Makers OCBD… Also scooped up this New Old Stock Timex box and papers… #winning
Alden’s, RL, J.Press…
I decided to organize my unworn shirts tonight (These are just the ones that haven’t been unwrapped). Profile on addiction take 1.
It’s been in the 50’s this morning and even though some of you would run around in a speedo at these temps, I’m freezing my butt off. Finally busting out the Shaggy Dog I forgot to bring up north, college days Alden suede tassel Mocs, still looking good since they’ve barely been worn in the last decade. 15+ yr old RL Kermit the Frog green cords, and NOS BB OCBD… Matchie-matchie I know.
Endless summer… J.Press shirt and belt, RL pants, Bean on the feet.
Monday Blue’s. “Baby it’s cold outside”
OCBD - Brooks Brothers made in the USA
Pants - RL Cords, made in Italy
Belt - Same J.Press I’ve worn all vacation
Jacket - Barbour Bedale
Sweater - Brooks Brothers 3-Ply Scottish Cashmere, getting my money’s worth by wearing almost daily.
Today’s ensemble is the usual suspects. Brooks shirt, Press belt, RL pants, J.Crew socks, Bean shoes.
Ready for a wonderful evening. Tuxedo and shirt by the wonderful and helpful J.Press, 20 yr old bow tie and cummerbund by Robert Talbott, shoes by Alden. Vintage Trafalgar braces. No watch, I never wear a watch with formal wear, it suggests to your host that you have a better place to be. I did wear my Grandfather’s crest ring that Cartier made in the 1950’s. Something old, something new.
Mercer & Sons OCBD, sleeves rolled as its warm again, RL pants, J.Press nylon belt, Brooks Brothers X Alden unlined shell cordovan loafers.
Headed to lunch today with Tumblr pal @tjtevlin we should hold a Tumblr party one of these days… It would be great to meet so many of you.
With or without a filter, it’s a 100% made in the USA. Brooks Brothers 1818 sack Navy Blazer, ( @justbudfox it came in) J.Press Bengal shirt, BB tie, not seen khaki’s and Alden sleds as usual.
I am now truly convinced any other way of dressing is truly a waste of money. Though I have wandered off the reservation a few times in my life (style speaking)… I always come back to the basics. Fast forward 20 years this same outfit will still be perfectly acceptable, rewind 20 years equally so. Stay classic my friends.
